====== Spark Suppressors (Snubbers) ======

Components that contain coils, such as relays, contactors, solenoids, and motors, can generate electrical noise when they are switched on or off.

When current flowing through a coil is suddenly interrupted, the energy stored in the coil must go somewhere. As a result, a brief but potentially high voltage spike can be generated. This can cause arcing, sparks at the contacts, and electrical noise that may interfere with nearby electronic circuits.

A spark suppressor, often called a snubber, is a device designed to reduce these unwanted effects. It absorbs or redirects the energy released by the coil, helping to prevent sparks and reduce electrical noise.

In simple terms, a spark suppressor is a component installed across a switch, relay contact, or inductive load to reduce arcing and extend the life of the equipment.

Spark suppressors are available in many different forms and ratings, making it easy to find one suitable for a particular application. Some are designed for general-purpose use, while others are made specifically for contactors and other industrial switching devices.
