CUWIN 5000 & 6000 OS Restore Instructions

  1. Set the CUWIN's operating mode dip switches as follows
    1 - On
    2 - Off
    3 - On
    4 - Off
    5 - Off
    6 - Off
  2. Connect a serial cable from the PC's com port to the CUWIN's “COM 1”, and connect a USB cable from the PC's USB port to the CUWIN's “USB DEVICE” port. Be sure COM1 is not configured for RS-485.
  3. Turn on CUWIN and use Device Manager to install the driver in the “Driver” folder. There is currently no 64-bit driver, so the driver must be installed to a 32-bit Windows computer.
  4. Run DNW.exe from the “Utility” folder. Ensure the title bar reads “USB:OK”. Configure the serial port settings as 115200 baud. Select “Serial Port”→“Connect” from the menu and make sure the title bar reads “COM[n], 115200”.
  5. Turn the CUWIN off and back on again, and a menu should appear in the utility.
  6. Type “F” then “9” then “U”.
  7. Choose “USB Port”→“UBOOT” and browse to the OS image file.
  8. Wait for it to finish downloading. When prompted to do so, reset the operating mode dip switches, and reboot the CUWIN.
  9. Recalibrate the touch screen and enjoy.

The following video demonstrates the procedure above.
