CUWIN 5000 & 6000 OS Restore Instructions
- Set the CUWIN's operating mode dip switches as follows
1 - On
2 - Off
3 - On
4 - Off
5 - Off
6 - Off - Connect a serial cable from the PC's com port to the CUWIN's “COM 1”, and connect a USB cable from the PC's USB port to the CUWIN's “USB DEVICE” port. Be sure COM1 is not configured for RS-485.
- Turn on CUWIN and use Device Manager to install the driver in the “Driver” folder. There is currently no 64-bit driver, so the driver must be installed to a 32-bit Windows computer.
- Run DNW.exe from the “Utility” folder. Ensure the title bar reads “USB:OK”. Configure the serial port settings as 115200 baud. Select “Serial Port”→“Connect” from the menu and make sure the title bar reads “COM[n], 115200”.
- Turn the CUWIN off and back on again, and a menu should appear in the utility.
- Type “F” then “9” then “U”.
- Choose “USB Port”→“UBOOT” and browse to the OS image file.
- Wait for it to finish downloading. When prompted to do so, reset the operating mode dip switches, and reboot the CUWIN.
- Recalibrate the touch screen and enjoy.
The following video demonstrates the procedure above.
